IIDA is pleased to attend the Orgatec Trade Fair, Oct. 23-27, 2018, in Cologne, Germany, to present a panel discussion and interactive booth experience at the international workplace design conference. This year’s program, “Every Where Has a Why: The Future of Human-Centered Workplace Design,” will give attendees the opportunity to learn how successful workplace designers create spaces that are both high-tech and high-touch.
Moderated by IIDA Executive Vice President and CEO Cheryl S. Durst, Hon. FIIDA, the panel discussion, scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 24, at 11 a.m., will feature industry leaders and members of the IIDA International Board of Directors, including Gabrielle Bullock, IIDA, FAIA, NOMA, principal and director of global diversity, Perkins+Will; Susana Covarrubias, IIDA, studio director and creative director, Gensler; James Kerrigan, IIDA, design principal of interiors, Jacobs; and Sascha Wagner, FIIDA, AIA, president and CEO, Huntsman Architectural Group.
The Association’s experiential booth will serve as a hub for IIDA to connect with Orgatec attendees, IIDA Members, and international designers. Earlier this year, IIDA held its biennial IIDA Student Booth Design Competition, supported by Vitra, which gave students the opportunity to design a trade show booth for Orgatec 2018. Sana Khan, of the New York School of Interior Design, created the winning booth design and will see her concept realized this fall in Germany.
“As we discuss next-generation design concepts, it is only fitting that we bring a future leader’s innovative booth design to life. Sana’s interpretation of the space will offer visitors a fresh, uniquely engaging experience,” said Durst. “We are looking forward to a lively panel discussion at Orgatec that will highlight the intersection of people, place, and purpose in the workplace and the role designers have in creating office spaces that take human-centered design into the future.”
