IIDA Recognizes Aimee Schefano as the 2018 Advocate of the Year

Aimee Schefano

IIDA is proud to honor Aimee Schefano, Associate IIDA, interior designer, SMMA, as the 2018 IIDA Advocate of the Year. The annual Award recognizes an IIDA Member whose dedication and commitment to interior design advocacy has made a significant impact on their design community.

Schefano serves as vice president of advocacy for the IIDA New England Chapter. She has worked tirelessly over the past three years to restructure and recommit the Chapter’s advocacy and legislative efforts in Massachusetts. Armed with a new committee and lobbyist support, Schefano has sought to advance the perception of interior design by engaging and educating numerous state legislators along with the governor.

“Aimee embodies everything we could ask for in an advocacy volunteer-leader,” said IIDA Advocacy and Legislative Affairs Director Emily Kluczynski. “She navigates the legislative and grassroots process seamlessly, and truly elevates the profession through her relationship building with policymakers in Massachusetts.”
