IIDA NY’s New President for the 2024-2025 Term

Christin Weaver to Further Fostering an Engaging Community for Design Professionals

Christin Weaver

The International Interior Design Association’s New York Chapter (IIDA NY) is proud to announce the inauguration of Christin Weaver, as Chapter President for the 2024-2025 term. Weaver, IIDA, NCIDQ, is a Senior Interior Designer at Ted Moudis Associates and has been an active member of the chapter since 2012. She succeeds Alexandria Davis, who served as President for the 2023-2024 term and will mentor Elisabeth Mejia, who was elected President for the 2025-2026 term.

Weaver’s presidency officially commenced at the IIDA NY Annual Members Meeting on Tuesday, July 16. During the meeting, Davis highlighted the Chapter’s accomplishments over the past year, and Weaver outlined her vision and goals for the year ahead. As Chapter President, Weaver aims to support emerging professionals and ease the transition of young designers from collegiate life to active membership in the design community. She will also spearhead the upcoming website redesign, which will amplify the visibility and voice of both the New York City-based committees and the chapter’s four City Centers.

Weaver brings nearly two decades of experience in interior design and architecture to her role having worked across the healthcare, education, and hospitality sectors. Throughout her career, Weaver has worked for renowned firms including Ted Moudis Associates, Perkins&Will, The Switzer Group, and Gensler, and has previously held leadership positions in the chapter including Vice President of Member Services and Co-Chair of Volunteer Coordination.

“I’m honored to take on the role of President of the IIDA NY Chapter,” said Weaver. “I look forward to advancing our mission of promoting excellence in interior design and fostering a strong community of professionals in New York State. I’m particularly excited to further support up-and-coming professionals through initiatives like the designer grant and various professional development programs.”

President-Elect Elisabeth Mejia, a Senior Interior Designer at HKS, has been an active member of the chapter since 2015 and will now work closely with Weaver on the Executive Board. She previously served as IIDA NY’s Co-Vice President of Student Development.

As a professional interior design organization, IIDA NY unites design professionals throughout New York State, providing networking opportunities, educational events, and charitable initiatives for members. The Chapter strives to celebrate design, encourage collaboration, share knowledge, and advocate for the interior design community.
