IIDA NY Sustainable Design Forum: Local Honey Tasting and Beekeeping Workshop

Event.IIDA-NY.BeeKeeping

Did you know that honey bees sleep at night? They get ready to nap once the sun goes down. That’s the reason our workshops are earlier in the day. To learn a lot more about honeybees and their fascinating societies, join us at the Brooklyn Grange urban rooftop farm for a honeybee workshop event on Thursday September 10th from 4pm-6pm!

Come see the wonderful bee apiaries that are a stone’s throw away from Manhattan and walk through one of the city’s largest rooftop soil farms that proudly harvests over 50,000 lbs of local produce every year! Let’s delve into the art of beekeeping with the local masters at the Brooklyn Grange showing us how apiaries are setup, how the bees are bred, and what goes into keeping them alive and happy. Enjoy a private tour of the rooftop farms and learn how this urban farm practices organic farming, growing nutritious and tasty food and dreams boldly of a sustainable New York.

Not sure how to get to the venue? Leave it to us! Once we have the final headcount, we will reach out to you with options.

Join us on Thursday, September 10th at Brooklyn Grange Rooftop Farm – 63 Flushing Avenue, Brooklyn, NY
