IIDA NY Chapter Partners with LMNOP to Expand Outreach of Resources

Inaugural Virtual Mixer to Introduce Converging Respective Activities

Jennifer Graham, LMNOP Founder and IIDA NY’s new Vice President of Action

The International Interior Design Association’s New York Chapter (IIDA NY) and LMNOP (Leadership, Mentoring & Networking Opportunities) are pleased to announce a  joint partnership. Together, the organizations will expand their respective networks under a shared vision and mission of providing workshops, mentoring, and networking activities for the architecture and design community at-large.

“In light of current economic uncertainty, now more than ever, networking opportunities and business focused professional development workshops are critical to our industry’s connectivity and resilience,” said Jennifer Graham, LMNOP Founder, and IIDA NY’s Vice President of Action—a brand new position within the chapter. “Thanks to this recent partnership, LMNOP’s reach will dramatically expand under the large umbrella of IIDA NY. For the past 11 years, LMNOP has consistently created meaningful and long-lasting connections and widen our rich, supportive network; this partnership ensures that our programs can be more accessible to both the IIDA NY and LMNOP communities at-large.”

Founded in 2009, LMNOP is a non-profit organization that provides personal and professional development to members of the design community. In July 2020, LMNOP announced the discontinuation of programming. LMNOP’s new partnership with IIDA NY will allow the organization to continue its mission of providing resources to the community, while remaining an independent entity. Joint goals include a convergence between LMNOP and IIDA NY programming.

Graham has accepted the new position of IIDA NY’s Vice President of Action. In this position, Graham will oversee the transition with the goal of stewarding catalyst and equity programs within IIDA NY. “This position supports my belief that we must work to support like-minded people and community efforts,” comments Graham. “ I plan to champion social justice causes, equity and community support opportunities within each.” The new leadership team will also include Habiba Koroma and Jenna Wernikowski, who both previously worked with Graham at LMNOP.

Future programming will emphasize virtual learning and networking, seamlessly integrating participants from across IIDA NY’s network of members, including the chapter’s four City Centers based in Albany, Buffalo, Rochester and Syracuse.  On Wednesday, November 18th, from 6:30-8:00 PM, IIDA NY will host the chapter’s inaugural virtual mixer, “LMNOP’s Welcome Back Bash,” to celebrate their return to networking events and preview the 2021 calendar of events.

“We’re excited to partner with LMNOP and welcome participants of this organization to join our chapter,” said Erin Ruby, President, IIDA NY. “We’re committed to uniting interior design professionals in New York, providing them with networking opportunities and educational events to enhance their development. We’re grateful for LMNOP’s passionate leadership, and look forward to working with them.”
