IIDA NY Announces Designer Grant to Support Emerging Professionals
The International Interior Design Association’s New York Chapter (IIDA NY) is thrilled to introduce the IIDA NY Designer Grant, designed to support and uplift emerging interior design professionals seeking to become more actively involved in the IIDA community.
“This initiative acknowledges the immense value of mentoring, experience, and knowledge provided by our organization, aiming to offer crucial financial assistance for membership, access to exclusive member-only events, and discounted ticketing opportunities,” said Christin Weaver, President of IIDA NY.
The IIDA NY Designer Grant offers up to ten memberships to emerging professionals with fewer than five years of experience. Applicants must not be eligible for reimbursement from their current employer and preference will be given to those interested in volunteering on an IIDA NY committee. The application period runs from September 1 to 30, 2024, with awards selected by lottery and notifications sent between October 1 and November 30, 2024. There are no application fees. Sponsorship opportunities for the 2025 grant are also available.
Additionally, IIDA NY is gearing up to celebrate its 30th anniversary in 2025. To mark this significant milestone, the Chapter will be unveiling a new website in January. With over 850 members, more than 50 annual events, and 50+ sponsors, IIDA NY is among the largest in the nation. “Our Chapter’s remarkable growth would not have been possible without the unwavering support of our annual sponsors,” said Weaver. Sponsors who contribute to the website’s development will have their logos prominently featured at IIDA NY Chapter events throughout the year, in recognition of their ongoing commitment to our community.
