The International Interior Design Association (IIDA) Foundation is pleased to announce that applications are being accepted for the Anna Hernandez/Luna Textiles Education Fund Award. This award honors the memory of Anna Hernandez, the renowned founder and president of Luna Textiles, by advancing and celebrating the work of women in the Interior Design profession. The recipient of the Anna Hernandez/Luna Textiles Education Fund Award will receive $5,000 on behalf of the IIDA Foundation.
“By honoring an extraordinary woman in interior design, we hope to empower other women to follow in the footsteps of textiles visionary and industry leader Anna Hernandez,” said Cheryl S. Durst, Hon. FIIDA, LEED AP, Executive Vice President and CEO of IIDA. “Women are the backbone of the Interior Design profession, and we seek to recognize those who are taking risks, forging new paths, and elevating the profession.”
“Anna believed firmly in the power of women and their ability to lead the contract design industry to new heights. Her wish to make a difference for women and our industry lives on through this wonderful award,” said award-winning designer Michael Vanderbyl, Hernandez’s husband and principal of Vanderbyl Design.
To apply, a candidate must be a female business owner whose firm specializes in interior design or product design. The recipient also must be available to accept the award during ICFF in New York, May 20-23, 2018. The deadline to apply is 5 p.m. Central Time on Wednesday, January 31, 2018.
