IIDA Interior Design Competition and Will Ching Design Competition Now Open

The International Interior Design Association (IIDA) announced the opening of the association’s two premier design competitions, the 45th annual Interior Design Competition and the 26th annual Will Ching Design Competition. These international competitions honor outstanding, innovative, and original designs with the Interior Design Competition open to firms of any size and the Will Ching Design Competition recognizing commercial design from firms of five employees or fewer.

“Designers play a crucial role in creating spaces that not only inspire, but also support the health and well-being of the people who occupy these spaces. We look forward to seeing the diverse and innovative projects submitted to our marquee design competitions,” said IIDA Executive Vice President and CEO Cheryl S. Durst, Hon. FIIDA, LEED AP.

Both competitions are open to participants worldwide. The design project(s) must have been completed in or after December 2015. The deadline to enter is Friday, Feb. 16, 2018.

A list of finalists will be released in March 2018 with winners of the competitions announced in April 2018. The Interior Design Competition Best of Competition award will be announced and all winners will be celebrated during COOL, the annual IIDA black-tie gala, on Sunday, June 10, 2018. Winning projects will be featured on the IIDA website and in the May issue of Interior Design magazine, the publishing partner for the competitions.
