IIDA Announces Winners of the 2018 IIDA/HD Expo Product Design Awards
IIDA is honored to announce the winners of the 22nd annual IIDA/HD Expo Product Design Awards. The awards, given in eight categories, honor innovation, function, and aesthetic advancements in the hospitality industry.
“Product design plays a crucial role in the functionality and aesthetics of hospitality environments,” said IIDA Executive Vice President and CEO Cheryl S. Durst, Hon. FIIDA, LEED AP. “Winners of this year’s competition found innovative ways to leverage product design to craft a hospitality experience that offers travelers a place to escape while maintaining elements that feel like home.”
Entries were judged by a jury of design professionals, including Christopher Evans, associate principal, Rottet Studio; Michelle Reichert, director of strategic sourcing, MGM Resorts International; and Patricia Rotondo, IIDA, senior principal and director of interior design, Antunovich Associates.
“The submissions we received this year demonstrated the strong impact that great product design can have on a space,” said Rotondo, on behalf of the jury. “It was exciting to select winners whose product innovations offer incredible technical advancements and reflect a commitment to environmental responsibility.”

Winning products were recognized at the HD Expo Social Hub located on the show floor at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 3. All winning products, manufacturers, and designers will be published in Hospitality Design magazine and featured on the IIDA website. In addition, all winners will be published in HDShow Daily.
