IIDA Announces Winners of the 10th Annual Student Design Competition

The International Interior Design Association (IIDA) is honored to announce the winners of the 2023 Student Design Competition, sponsored by OFS and Carolina. The annual competition allows design students to highlight their creativity and vision while also gathering insights and experience with leaders of the industry. This year’s design challenge asked entrants to design an assisted living facility with innovation at the forefront.

“The Student Design Competition embodies our values of education, professional development, and collaboration while providing a real-world challenge for students coming into the industry,” said IIDA Executive Vice President and CEO, Cheryl S. Durst, Hon. FIIDA. “With a constant eye toward the future and a mission to inspire the next generation of thought leaders, IIDA is thankful to OFS and Carolina for their partnership and participation in this prestigious, annual award.”

Entries were judged by a panel of design professionals including: Perkins Eastman Interior Designer and Senior Living Associate, Corey Cappello; HDR Senior Interior Designer and Professional Associate, Kelley Dorsett, IIDA, CHID; Past President of IIDA NY, Elsie St. Leger, Assoc. IIDA; and OFS National Accounts Director, Healthcare, Natalie Thomas.

“Each entry exhibited the incredible promise and talent found in this generation of design students,” said Cappello on behalf of the jury. “The winning projects, however, featured a remarkably high level of ingenuity and passion for the growing segment of assisted living design. We’re honored to award these top prizes and celebrate these students.”
