IIDA Announces One Plus Partnership Limited as the 46th Annual Interior Design Competition Best of Competition Winner
IIDA is pleased to honor One Plus Partnership Limited’s Wuhan Panlong Plaza Yinxing Cinema as the Best of Competition winner for the 2019 IIDA Interior Design Competition.
The annual competition celebrates outstanding interior design/interior architecture that encourages new ideas and techniques in the design and furnishing of interior spaces. The firm was chosen from 12 finalists and was recognized at Silver: The IIDA Gala on Sunday, June 9, 2019.
“The design team’s vision of an immaculate, futuristic cinema comes to life through the thoughtful use of uniform materials, patterns, and spatial forms,” said IIDA Executive Vice President and CEO Cheryl S. Durst, Hon, FIIDA. “We are truly pleased to honor One Plus Partnership Limited with this Best of Competition award.”
Located in China, the 43,000-square-foot theater is distinguished by the use of gray-scale cement as the primary building material, flowing geometric gestures, and LED light installs.
Entries were judged by a jury of design experts, including Verda Alexander, IIDA, co-founder, O+A; Gary Lee, IIDA, president, Gary Lee Partners; and Krista Ninivaggi, IIDA, Allied ASID, founder, K&CO.
“One Plus Partnership Limited’s masterful theater project demonstrates a quiet, poetic power that is carried through every element of the design,” said Alexander on behalf of the jury. “This impressive feat is well-deserving of the Best of Competition award.”
