IIDA Announces EwingCole as the 7th Annual Healthcare Design Awards Best of Competition Winner

IIDA proudly announces EwingCole as the Best of Competition winner of theĀ 2018 Healthcare Design Awards for Memorial Sloan Kettering Bergen in Montvale, New Jersey. This competition honors and celebrates outstanding originality and excellence in the design and furnishings of healthcare interior spaces.

ā€œHealthcare design must focus on finding creative and compassionate solutions,ā€ saidĀ IIDA Executive Vice President and CEO Cheryl S. Durst, Hon.Ā FIIDA. ā€œUnphased by challenges, the design team at EwingCole blended natural and man-made elements to create a space that successfully incorporates biophilia and integrated technology.ā€

Projects were reviewed by a panel of healthcare design professionals, includingĀ Michelle Clark, IIDA,Ā senior associate, Rees Associates; Kerianne W. Graham,Ā AIA, senior associate and healthcare architect, NBBJ; andĀ Anita Rossen, healthcare practice leader, Rice Fergus Miller, Inc. ā€“ a B Corp.

ā€œMemorial Sloan Kettering Bergen effortlessly combines wonderful cohesion of planning, interior design, lighting, and furnishings. The challenge of the building type and density of the program make this project solution even more special,ā€ said ClarkĀ on behalf of the jury.

TheĀ Best of CompetitionĀ winner was announced and all winners were celebrated at a special awards reception onĀ Thursday, November 8, 2018, in theĀ IDEA StudioĀ at IIDA Headquarters in Chicago. Winning projects are featured on theĀ IIDA websiteĀ and will be published in the December issue ofĀ Healthcare DesignĀ magazine.
