IFMA taps Mahender Singh as Director, IFMA India

IFMA poised to play leading role in FM growth in India

Mahender Singh

The International Facility Management Association (IFMA) has hired Mahender Singh to serve as Director, IFMA India. He brings more than 25 years of experience in facilities, corporate real estate, facilities operations, turn around management, business development, finance and general administration. His end-to-end experience in real estate services make him the ideal candidate for this critical position as IFMA works to support the emerging FM industry in India.

“I am excited to begin a new journey with IFMA India and look forward to working with the team to further develop their already extensive product and services,” said Singh. “I am fortunate to be joining such a respected organization that strives to be a top authority on its subject.”

The FM market in India has been growing since 2003. In fact, according to research conducted by GlobalFM and supported by IFMA, it expanded by a staggering 22 percent in 2014-15 and is poised for even more “rapid market growth” in the coming years. As India’s FM market emerges, its inclusion in the global FM community represented by IFMA will help it mature quickly and effectively to meeting growing demand.

“IFMA is committed to the development and support of a truly global FM community,” said IFMA Chief Operations Officer John Perry. “The emergence of India on the global stage is one of the most important trends of the twenty first century and as its cities are developed and its built environment modernizes, the benefit of sound FM practices will be more important for India than ever. Mahender Singh understands the role FM must play in India’s future, and he understands the business realities of real estate. He will be an invaluable resource both for FM professionals working in India and for IFMA.”

IFMA, thanks to its landmark collaboration with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) is leading the charge to build a truly global FM community while integrating FM into the broader built environment conversation. In this context, Singh will work to further develop IFMA’s growing membership portfolio of regional and national accounts. It is that global reach that enables IFMA to integrate the best of India’s innovation to the rest of the world while offering India a set of well-established and time-tested industry best practices on which to build.
