The Float Mini height-adjustable table and M/Connect 3 Pro Dock were both recognised for outstanding product design, marking a significant achievement for Humanscale’s ergonomic innovation.
Established globally as one of the worlds’ largest design competitions, the Red Dot Award is a benchmark for excellence in product design, design concepts and brand and communication design. Each year, the Red Dot Jury select winners based on products that are aesthetically appealing, functional, sustainable, innovative, and above all else, products that echo outstanding design.
Humanscale’s Float Mini and M/Connect 3 Pro Dock stood out amongst the thousands of global entries submitted across 51 categories – magnifying the true significance of winning a Red Dot award and showcasing Humanscale’s continued commitment to user-centric design, dedication to sustainability and wellbeing in the workplace.
Not only did Float Mini win its category but it was awarded with ‘Red Dot: Best of the Best’, an honour reserved for the top designs in each category. This distinction is awarded for groundbreaking design and is the highest award in the competition.

Float Mini
The Float Mini table combines classic residential aesthetics with Humanscale’s world-class ergonomic design to create a simple and compact solution for both home and work environments. Providing an ideal component to an ergonomic setting by encouraging natural movement in users, the Float Mini offers a work surface that glides to a range of heights. Powered by a pneumatic cylinder, Float Mini promotes natural movement with a smooth, adjustable worksurface that moves effortlessly to different heights, eliminating the need for proximity to a power source and ensuring ergonomic comfort in any setting.
Although standard in most other sit/stand desks, Float Mini does not utilise any harmful Red List chemicals, such as formaldehyde. In addition, Humanscale chose to use bamboo for the work surface as opposed to traditional wood. Bamboo takes less than 10 years to replenish, making it a planet-friendly option. By comparison, the wood used in standard tops comes from old-growth forests, which can take up to 100 years to regrow.
M/Connect 3 Pro Dock
For more than 35 years, Humanscale has been creating solutions that enhance everyday wellness, with products that are designed to make the workstation a more effective tool for the use of today’s technology. M/Connect 3 is a centralised hub for connecting data and power to laptops and handheld devices. A vital tool for the agile and technological needs of today, M/Connect 3 improves access to essential ports while reducing cable clutter. With three different models to choose from, MC3 is designed to target users unique needs.
Designed with efficiency in mind, MC3 takes up minimal space, increasing usable space on any worksurface. In all models, essential ports are made accessible, with two ports dedicated exclusively to high-speed charging.
With a distinguished panel of 40 independent and international experts, the Red Dot Jury evaluated each submission across a set criteria, including functionality, durability, innovation, ergonomics, and ecological compatibility. This rigorous assessment process ensures that only products demonstrating exceptional quality and forward-thinking design are awarded the prestigious Red Dot.
The Red Dot Awards — and especially the ‘Red Dot: Best of the Best’ honor for Float Mini — affirm Humanscale’s ethos to create products that improve the lives of users while minimising impact on the planet. As a ‘Red Dot: Best of the Best’ winner, Float Mini will be featured in the Red Dot Design Yearbook 2025 offering international exposure and recognition for both the product and the brand behind its creation. As winners of the Red Dot Awards, both Float Mini and MC3 will exhibit in the Red Dot Museum Essen showcasing to the 160,000 people that visit throughout the year.

The Red Dot Award is an international design competition that is organised in three disciplines: Product Design, Brands & Communication Design, and Design Concept. The competition is open to designers, agencies, design studios, manufacturers, brands, organisations, universities, and young designers. Each discipline has calls for entries once a year, and the winners receive the renowned Red Dot, the mark of quality for good design.
