HON Invests in Dealer and Design Community with 12,000+ SF Chicago Flagship

Opening June 2026 in Fulton Market, the 12,000+ square-foot flagship brings HON’s full commercial and K-12 portfolio to life, designed for dealers, designers, and customers to collaborate in one cohesive environment.

The HON Company has released plans for the new HON Chicago Flagship, the brand’s largest and most elaborate location to date, set to open in June 2026. This purpose-built destination brings HON’s commercial and K-12 solutions together in one cohesive environment that feels fresh, intentional, and inviting. The flagship provides a comprehensive view of the brand’s portfolio across workplace and learning environments, illustrating how its capabilities have expanded to support dealers, designers, and customers alike. With this opening, HON reinforces its commitment to delivering thoughtful design and dependable value across the full floorplate.

“Our Chicago Flagship is more than a showroom — it’s a statement,” said Ric Andersen, Vice President of Sales at The HON Company. “It brings the full strength of HON together in one immersive environment, giving our partners a smarter, faster way to collaborate, specify, and deliver complete solutions.”

The flagship is organized as a series of purposeful environments that support focus, collaboration, and connection — from private offices and heads-down work zones to education settings and dynamic collaborative spaces. Rather than showcasing products individually, the space emphasizes adjacency, workflow, and real-world application, allowing visitors to experience how HON solutions perform across the full floorplate. The environment also highlights HON’s award-winning seating portfolio alongside its workplace and K-12 solutions, reinforcing the depth, versatility, and quality that define the brand. The adaptable layout will support events, training sessions, and industry programming, strengthening the flagship’s role as both a showroom and dealer resource.

“This space lets our dealers and customers experience complete, working solutions designed around their needs — from private offices to flexible learning environments,” said Jason Heredia, Vice President of Marketing at The HON Company. “It’s a place to collaborate, explore what’s possible, and see firsthand how HON delivers on style, function, and value.”

This next chapter builds on a legacy more than eight decades in the making. Rooted in Muscatine, Iowa, HON began by manufacturing steel kitchen cabinets for post-war homes and continues to operate its headquarters today. That enduring foundation of durability and practical ingenuity has guided its evolution into one of the nation’s leading commercial furnishings manufacturers.

The flagship also reflects HON’s commitment to responsible manufacturing, with a portfolio that includes BIFMA LEVEL® and SCS Indoor Advantage Gold certified products produced in zero-waste-to-landfill facilities. This builds on a sustainability record that includes a 79% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions since 2018, surpassing HNI Corporation’s Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi)-validated goal, while also committing to reduce Scope 3 emissions intensity 40% by 2035.

Designed as a hub for dealer collaboration and partnership, the Chicago Flagship also supports engagement with customers and the architects and designers shaping the future of commercial design, reinforcing HON’s long-term commitment to the market. Situated on the 11th floor at 320 N Sangamon St., the 12,000+ square-foot destination will open in June 2026 during Fulton Market Design Days.

Completed in 2021, 320 North Sangamon is Chicago’s new workplace destination designed with everything forward-looking companies need to innovate and engage. Developed by Tishman Speyer and Chicago-based Mark Goodman & Associates and designed by Chicago-based architecture firm Solomon Cordwell Buenz, the 13-story, 270,000-square-foot tower features efficient, largely column-free floorplates and 13-foot ceiling heights. The building has achieved LEED Gold and FitWel certifications, and its Dedicated Outdoor Air System is Chicago’s first and only office building ventilation and circulation system that is 100 percent water-based.
