HKS is proud to launch a dedicated Commercial Interiors practice in Mexico City, expanding its integrated design services across Latin America. Building on more than two decades of regional leadership and 86 years of global experience, the new practice reinforces HKS’ commitment to future-focused, human-centered and regenerative workplace environments for corporate, commercial and mixed-use clients throughout Mexico and beyond.
Based in one of HKS’ most dynamic offices, the practice will collaborate with the firm’s multidisciplinary teams in architecture, experiential design, ESG-driven planning and branded environments to deliver interiors that respond to hybrid work, rapid urbanization and evolving consumer expectations. The studio will be led by Alejandro Danel, LEEP AP, Studio Practice Leader and Vice President.

“We are evolving, and I’m excited to lead our Commercial Interiors practice dedicated to design excellence across Mexico and the LATAM region. Our mission remains the same: to deliver high-impact spaces and strategic workplace environments that support our clients wherever they operate,” noted Alejandro.
“Mexico City continues to attract multinational companies, entrepreneurs and creative industries seeking culturally resonant workplaces that respond to a rapidly changing world of work. Establishing a dedicated Commercial Interiors practice locally allows us to serve clients with deep regional insight, strengthened by global expertise,” shared Brett Shwery, FIIDA, CID, AAIA, LEED AP, Global Practice Director, Commercial Interiors, HKS.

The new practice integrates with HKS’ established HKS Mexico City office, whose clients include HPE / Hewlett Packard Enterprise, DoorDash, Expedia, Centro Médico ABC, Instituto de Diagnóstico y Referencia Epidemiológicos, Las Ventanas al Paraíso, A Rosewood Resort, Hines, Estadio León and Estadio TSM Corona, among others.
This launch marks a new chapter for HKS in Mexico City, strengthening the firm’s ability to deliver transformative workplace and destination experiences across the region with spaces that elevate performance, culture and community impact.
