Hightower, a leading innovator in contract furniture design and manufacturing, has officially launched the Stanza Collection of modular planters from Hightower Studio. Inspired by renowned artist Richard Serra and guided by VP of Design Shawn Sowers, Stanza redefines how open spaces are used.
Brought to life by the visionary Hightower Studio Design Team, the Stanza Collection offers more than just sleek, contemporary planters. Whether it’s guiding the flow of foot traffic or creating modular divisions, Stanza’s customizable configurations make any room multi-functional without compromising style.
“With Stanza being the Latin word for room and considering how the stanzas within a poem are broken up and delineate the larger piece into ‘chunks,’ you can think of the Stanza Collection’s elements as ways to take a bigger space and divide it into segments so that you’ve got vignettes within a room or outdoor space,” Sowers explained.
Stanza’s unique, multi-faceted shape allows solo and modular units to be arranged in straight lines or clusters, creating visually engaging formations. Nine modules are available for custom designs and configurations.
With a range of Hightower Studio powder coats, there’s a shade to complement any space. Stanza configurations can end with a curve or end unit, and ganging clips are available to connect any module seamlessly. For added stability, floor mounts are also an option. Stanza is designed for interior or exterior use and ships flat-packed for easy delivery and quick assembly.
“I think a major differentiator of this collection when looking at other planters on the market is that Stanza is not just a place for plants,” Sowers explained. “In addition to providing space division, it becomes a surface for working and organizing. It’s a touchdown spot where you can meet or put down your laptop to capture a few thoughts in between meetings. Stanza is a ‘planter-plus system.’”
Visitors to Hightower’s Chicago showroom during NeoCon experienced Stanza showcased in its innovative configurations — straight, curved, long linear — bringing casual design and unique visual appeal to the space. Attendees in the showroom experienced firsthand how Stanza seamlessly blends form and function. (For those who missed NeoCon, Hightower extends an invitation to its Chicago showroom at THE MART to see Stanza in action.)
