“Trillia epitomizes a simple sophistication that immediately grabs your attention,” Bakker says. “It’s beautiful without feeling too complex or overdesigned.”

In bringing Trillia to life, the firm has created a piece that reflects Gunlocke’s legacy of exceptional wood craftsmanship but also integrates modern design elements for a fresh, interesting look. Staying true to Gunlocke’s heritage, it’s built using traditional joining methods but also features mixed materials – a solid-ash hardwood seat, accented by minimal metal at the base – for a contemporary feel.

Trillia’s striking grain detailing makes a bold statement, while its light scale doesn’t overwhelm a room. Its legs are precisely selected and placed so they show off this enhanced graining, a thoughtful attention to detail that makes the piece even more stunning. A polished metal foot ring provides an attractive accent to the wooden legs and seat while giving you a place to rest your feet.

Gunlocke_Trillia (3)Designers can personalize Trillia to suit any space, choosing from solid wood or an upholstered top. But its versatility doesn’t stop there. Available in bar or counter height, Trillia offers more than just elegant good looks; it provides real-world workplace functionality, supporting the needs and uses of collaborative spaces within any office.

The stool’s inviting seat has no set directional orientation or back, so you can sit comfortably for both quick meetings and those that require users to perch for longer periods. The hand-selected ash hardwood seat also features carefully contoured, sloped edges with a waterfall effect for maximum comfort, no matter which way you sit.

“Trillia offers the perfect solution for collaboration in any office, from touchdown spaces to informal conference areas,” Bakker says. “Its sleek design effortlessly enhances any area in the workplace. At the same time, it gives workers the comfort they need for short or long meetings.”

The Trillia stool will be available to order on March 15, 2016.
