The Mono pendant light by Giovanna Colapristi, a design student at the Academy of Fine Arts in Verona, is a cage-crinoline inspired reflection of daylight’s illumination. The white fiberglass shade floats above a rust-colored iron wire frame.

The trio of Ginger fixtures, designed by Edmondo Testaguzza, are reminiscent of vintage candy jars. The translucent pale yellow or smoky triple-layered glass emits an ethereal glow.

Global Lighting is proud to introduce new lighting from Karman. The fixtures are designed by a group of innovative Italian designers and fabricated in Fossombrone, Italy. Luca De Bona and Dario De Meo have created two lights, the Domenica and Nando. Both designs were inspired by icons of Italian culture, bucolic Sunday afternoons, and the motor scooter. Edmondo Testaguzza who helms an award winning studio, relived childhood memories to reimagine crystalline jars in the form of textured Ginger lights. Bizzarri Design Associates, a collaboration between Stefano Bizzarri and Claudio Cinti looked to the automobile engine as inspiration for their Mek collection of lights. In conjunction with the Accademia di Belle Arti Cignaroli di Verona, Karman has included the Mono pendant by Giovanna Colapristi, a student in the industrial design workshop led by Sotirios Papadopoulos.

Larry Lazin, President of Global Lighting applauds the collaborations which Karman has sought and creatively explored. “There is an expressive nature to the lighting produced at Karman, that respects tradition while constantly experimenting with materials and the manufacturing process. While each designer has created lighting that reflects their own sensibility, all of the designs from Karman are consistently poetic. They embrace innovation while celebrating the expressiveness of experience.”

The Mek pendants, designed by Stefano Bizzarri and Claudio Cinti of Studio Bizzarri, mimic the shapes of engine parts. The Mek Clutch, Mek Crankshaft and Mek Camshaft bring a touch of Steampunk to the spaces they illuminate. Each design is available in black ceramic, white and bronze ceramic, or white ceramic.

The Nando family of pendants is a nod to Ferdinando Innocenti, who founded the machinery-works company Innocenti and was the creator of the Lambretta motor scooter. Designers Luca De Bona and Dario De Meo created the fixtures, which are made of punched metal with lacquered finishes in gold, white and gray. The Nando Handlebar and Nando Grip pay homage to the celebrated Italian businessman who began his career as a blacksmith.
