FXFOWLE at NYC Pride March: Breaking Records and Making History

More than 40,000 marchers from over 350 organizations and companies (breaking all NYC Pride records) trekked down Fifth Avenue on Sunday, June 25 for the NYC Pride March 2017. Thousands and thousands of spectators lined the streets to support the LGBTQ community, diversity, women’s rights, gun control and many other important and passionate issues.

Joining FXFOWLE in the march were colleagues from Arup, OMA, Dattner Architects, Holly Hunt, HLB Lighting Design, Cerami & Associates,Turner Construction, and BuroHappold. To the best of their knowledge, they made history by being the first AEC firms to ever walk in the NYC Pride March.

FXFOWLE’s participation in the NYC Pride March was sponsored by FXF-one, our LGBTQ and Allies Group. FXF-one was created as a forum to recognize and raise awareness of LGBTQ issues within the architecture and design industry. The group also provides outreach opportunities for the firm to volunteer with LGBTQ organizations in the city.
