Francis Cauffman, a leading Philadelphia- and New York City-based architecture firm, is proud to announce that Wan C. Leung has been appointed Principal. In an effort to expand the firm’s science and technology (S&T) portfolio, Leung will spearhead efforts for all S&T and health science projects and initiatives.

Leung joins Francis Cauffman with over two decades of planning, programming and design experience. In his previous roles, he has served as a client manager, project planner, project architect, and lead team coordinator for a wide range of building and project types. Most recently, Leung worked as senior project manager at Flad Architects in New York.

“We’re thrilled to bring on somebody who demonstrates meticulous attention to client needs, as Leung does,” said John Campbell, President of Francis Cauffman. “We know that Leung will bring his vast array of experience into his new role at Francis Cauffman, which is invaluable as we continue to move into new and ambitious S&T projects.”

Leung’s extensive background is highlighted through his work on Northwell Health System’s Core Testing Facility in which the existing 60,000-square-foot core lab in Lake Success, NY was replaced by two automated facilities: The Core Lab New York and Northwell’s Center for Advanced Medicine. In addition, he worked with a confidential Fortune 500 client to consolidate the primary business sector’s 355,000-gross-square-feet of research facility space into a central global research center.

“I’m excited to contribute to such a talented team and it is a privilege that I will have the opportunity to further establish the S&T portfolio at Francis Cauffman,” says Leung. “I have spent my entire professional career dedicated to examining the spaces in which we work, study and heal; this coupled with my experience in listening to the needs of the client, occupants, and end users provides me with a strong skill set.”

Notably, Leung completed a total modernization of General Electric’s MET Facility at their global research headquarters – in just seven months. Another project that is featured in Leung’s portfolio is his design of the NYU College of Nursing, Dentistry, and Bio-Engineering Institute. The new construction consisted of 55,000-square-feet of laboratories atop a 170,000-square-foot tower that fosters collaboration among healthcare students.

Francis Cauffman is looking forward to having Leung on board. His professionalism and ability to nurture relationships with clients will bring a new creative energy and innovative concepts to all of Francis Cauffman’s future endeavors throughout the U.S.
