Francis Cauffman Appoints Carol Karasek As Principal, Science and Technology
Award-winning international architecture firm Francis Cauffman announced that Carol Karasek, AIA, has been appointed Principal, Science and Technology. Karasek is a practice leader with 35 years of experience in the programming, design, and delivery of research and clinical facilities. Her specialty is the design of academic medical centers engaged in translational research. This emerging model integrates basic science and clinical studies, leading to more meaningful health outcomes.

Karasekâs past national clients include the New York Presbyterian Hospital, Yale-New Haven Hospital, North Shore Long Island Jewish Healthcare System, Los Angeles County – University of Southern California Medical Center, Bronx Psychiatric Center Adult Behavioral Health Facility, Weill Cornell Medical College, New York University Langone Medical Center, St. Vincentâs Hospital and Medical Center, and Childrenâs Hospital Oakland. Previously, Karasek was a Senior Vice President at Cannon Design.
She serves her clients with effective project management, thoughtful planning, and consistent oversight. Her experience has garnered numerous awards, including a New York Construction Award for Merit for the Feinstein Institute at North Shore Long Island Jewish Healthcare System and a âBuild Brooklynâ award for the SUNY Downstate Medical Center Biotech Incubator.
Karasek has a Master of Architecture from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Arts from Cornell University. She is licensed in New York, California, and Connecticut.
