Firm //3877 Announces New Interior Designer & New Architect, Company Accolades

D.C.- based, architecture and design firm //3877 is pleased to announce two new team members, expanding its impressive roster of design professionals. Joining the architecture team will be Elizabeth Kovacevic, AIA, LEED AP, and on the interior design team, Abby Eckard.

Elizabeth Kovacevic

Elizabeth Kovacevic, who received her Masters of Architecture from Tulane University, came to the world of design by a leap of faith. Not knowing much about architecture and coming from a family of scientists, she started architecture school and was hooked from day one. Her time in New Orleans solidified her passion for merging and blending architecture with the environment that surrounds it . After four years in DC, Liz has gained experience on a wide range of projects including multi-family, commercial and master planning. She believes good design is for everyone.

Abby Eckard

Abby Eckard has a BFA in Interior Architecture from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro and an MS in Interior Design from Florida State University.  From a young age Abby was always drawn to the world of design. In college, she realized what really captured her attention was the impact that design can have on people within the space. She feels that design allows for the innate ability to create spaces in the built environment that impact occupants experiences, memories, and relationships which is truly impactful. She has had the opportunity to study both architecture and design abroad in Australia, as well as do a fair amount of traveling worldwide which has provided her with an even broader outlook on design possibilities. For her thesis project in graduate school Abby focused on hospitality design, specifically within hostels. She explored, researched, and designed for the relationship and the experience that is created in a hostel by elevating the communal and social aspects to blend with the comfort and luxury that is provided by a well branded hotel. Abby is intrigued by the materiality and moments that happen within a space and loves the journey throughout the entire design process, from initial concept design all the way to the final product.

Both creative minds will be enmeshed in //3877’s culture of innovation, taking part in //3877’s evolving narrative as one of D.C.’s Coolest Companies. Orchestrating design concepts on behalf of the firm’s many hospitality, retail, and residential projects, both Elizabeth and Abby will be active members of the //3877 narrative.
