Fil Doux Textiles Breaks It Down With Vinylife | Eco-Friendly Vinyl

Fil Doux Textiles has taken its innovative new Vinylife™ product to another level with the addition of Pro-Tech, the company’s proprietary ink and stain treatment. Vinylife brings an unprecedented end-of-life story to vinyl textiles through an inventive production process that enhances biodegradability at the end of its useful life. The recently launched Vinylife microsite lays it out in the following video.

Available exclusively through Fil Doux Textiles, this vinyl upholstery with enhanced biodegradability represents an unprecedented industry development and the introduction of an end-of-life story for vinyl textiles. Vinylife is produced with a natural enzyme, which reacts to microorganisms found in biologically active landfills and acts as the catalyst for its decomposition. Featuring the same strength and durability as traditional vinyl, Vinylife is breathable, phthalate free, and exceeds 200,000+ double rubs.

“We’re so excited about this revolutionary new product,” says Fil Doux Textiles President Leonardo Novik. “Vinylife is a huge step forward for the marketplace. We now have access to the properties of vinyl, with a significantly improved sustainability story, which speaks to our goal of providing products that are beautiful and environmentally aware.”

Vinylife has recently been accepted into the Material ConneXion library, the comprehensive resource center dedicated to international material innovation. It is compatible with NFPA 260 guidelines, and achieved its enhanced status for biodegradability through the ASTM D5511 test method. Microscopic pores make this groundbreaking new material breathable, allowing for temperature control and a soft hand.

Vinylife’s durability makes it ideal for hotels and commercial and government projects as well as in the home. It is 54″ wide and is backed with 100 percent post-industrial recycled polyester. PRESTIGE, the first collection to be introduced, boasts bold color and thirty-four designs ranging from chic linen looks to exotic animal-inspired textures.

Vinylife is available to the trade exclusively through Fil Doux Textiles.
