Encore Launches Romp Occasional Tables Designed by Gower + Woolf

Encore’s Romp Occasional Tables are a Rollicking Good Time

Elevating traditional elements of utilitarian design with a playful flair and modern materials, Encore’s Romp occasional table collection embodies artful simplicity,

Marking the company’s first collaboration with Gower + Woolf, an American integrative design firm recently launched by industry veterans Andrew Gower and Paul Woolf Boettiger, the vision for Romp centered around the concept of resourcefulness, specifically the inventive use of materials. The designers were challenged to find creative ways to build a more efficient and effective product that was unassuming, yet still retained a high degree of visual appeal.

To achieve this, the decision was made to take simple shapes and recast them in subtly clever ways. Thin, solid metal rod legs were laser welded together in pairs, while a 14-gauge steel rimmed tray added depth and dimension to a basic circular top shape. The inset surface material, available in veneer, laminate or solid surface, offers the ability to create bold contrasting looks or more sophisticated tone-on-tone combinations to satisfy a wide range of applications and aesthetic preferences.

Table diameters include 21”, 30” and 36”, all of which are available in 16” and 18” heights, with frame finish options in 13 standard and premium colors. The durable construction and high level of craftsmanship also ensure a long product life cycle, adding to the collection’s sustainability story and in keeping with Encore’s long-term overall strategy.

“The beauty in Romp’s design lies in the details,” says Casey Journigan, Encore President. “It’s visually interesting without being overly complicated, which naturally allows it to fit in just about anywhere, from hotel lobbies and lounges to healthcare applications, educational environments, corporate offices and beyond.”

The first of three collaborations between Encore and Gower + Woolf to be introduced this year, Romp is rollicking fun, adding dimension and lightness to its surroundings and resulting in a collection that’s truly worthy of its name.
