EDspaces Innovation Awards Now Open

The International Interior Design Association (IIDA), in collaboration with EDmarket, proudly announces the opening of the 5th annual EDspaces Innovation Awards. The EDspaces Innovation Awards recognize manufacturers and designers for excellence in product design for the learning environment.

“The EDspaces Innovation Awards, now in its fifth year, have continually showcased a tremendous range of products that are elevating the learning experience for students and educators,” said IIDA Executive Vice President and CEO Cheryl S. Durst, Hon. FIIDA, LEED AP. “We anticipate this year’s entrants to continue to illustrate cutting-edge innovation in product design for the education industry.”

Entries are now being accepted in the following categories:

• Flooring (Carpet/Rugs; Hard Flooring/Resilient)

• Wall Surfaces (Acrylic; Glass; Metal; Moveable; Specialty Finishes; Wallcovering)

• Textiles (Drapery; Panel; Protective Finishes/Durability; Upholstery)

• Furniture (Casegoods; Children’s; Display Cases; Student Desk; Systems; Tables)

• Seating (Classroom; Conference; Fixed; Guest; Lounge; Task)

• Specialties (Ceilings; Lighting; Storage Carts; Technology Products; Visual Display & Signage)

• Equipment (Playground Equipment; A/V Equipment; Lectern/Teaching Station)

The competition is open to exhibitors at EDspaces 2017, scheduled for Oct. 25-27, 2017 in Kansas City, Missouri. Products must be offered for sale or use after Nov. 1, 2016 (Nov. 1, 2015 for first-time exhibitors). The deadline for submitting products is Friday, September 22. Product designs will be reviewed by a panel of design professionals. Judging will take place Oct. 25, 2017 during EDspaces 2017, and winners will be announced during the General Session on Oct. 26.
