Carol Duke’s industry knowledge and connections will help to grow the firm’s Cultural+Performing Arts Studio.
Carol Duke, Assoc. AIA, has joined DLR Group as a principal, and will lead national business development and strategy for the firm’s Cultural+Performing Arts Studio. In this role, Duke will build long-lasting relationships with clients that result in well-planned and inspiring design solutions.
Based in Washington, D.C., Duke has nearly three decades of experience in business development, focusing primarily on the pursuit and execution of cultural and performing arts facilities. She works closely with clients and project teams to ensure designs enhance the experience for performers, audience members, visitors, and staff alike.
“We are excited to welcome Carol to the firm,” said DLR Group Senior Principal Paul Westlake, FAIA, who leads the firm’s Cultural+Performing Arts Studio. “Her connections run deep in the industry, and I’m confident she’ll immediately begin working with institutions, communities, and clients to achieve their facility dreams.”
“I love both the arts and architecture. When I travel, including for work, I visit museums, theaters, college campuses and tour the best buildings – new and old – that define a local community. I also love to discuss architecture with design teams, clients, and anyone who will listen.”
Duke seeks out industry organizations that allow her to learn, network, and share experiences. She has held several leadership and committee positions and remains actively involved in organizations such as the American Institute of Architects, Society of College and University Planning, and the Society of Marketing Professional Services.
