Contemporary Office Interiors Acquires Workplace Resource of Canada’s Vancouver Location

Herman Miller, Inc. announced the sale of Workplace Resource of Canada’s Vancouver location to Contemporary Office Interiors (COI). The sale was completed on July 31, 2017.

This transition will bring enhanced service and product capabilities to the clients in the Vancouver market. Consolidation of the two dealers will help the Herman Miller Certified Dealer Network better deliver consistent and sustained performance throughout all of Western Canada.

Established in 1968, COI is one of the founding members of Herman Miller’s Certified Dealer Network. Lead by its president, Scott Ellis, the COI team includes Michael Draycott, Don Ellis, Kevin Swenson and Rory Ellis. Together, the team has more than 100 years of industry experience.

“Our goal is to help prepare organizations for the future by shaping the modern workplace in human, creative and responsive ways,” said Scott Ellis, COI President. “With this acquisition, we aspire to be the performance leader for workplace products and services for Western Canada and to be defined by our commitment to great customer experiences. This hub-and-spoke model affords COI and Herman Miller unparalleled scale and diversity throughout the region to best serve our customers.”

COI’s existing offices are located in Edmonton, Calgary, and Winnipeg. The recently acquired Vancouver location is located at 1035 West Pender St. Suite 100. The intent to become a fully-functional entity will soon include full warehouse operations (shipping/receiving, storage, installation and warranty operations) as well as expanded offerings in flooring, walls and other architectural products.
