Meet Configura’s CET Designer September User of the Month Kelli Szatkowski, design studio manager at Wilson Office Interiors in Dallas, TX.

“I love design, because it never stops. It’s always evolving, and there is always something new to learn. No single project is ever the same – each is unique for its own reasons,” Kelli said.

After deciding to follow in the footsteps of her aunt – a design principle at an A&D firm in Seattle – Kelli graduated with a bachelor’s degree in interior design from the University of Oklahoma.

“When I first started using CET Designer, my biggest challenge was figuring out the best way to do things efficiently. As time has progressed, I’m still learning new things in the software, ” Kelli said.

With seven years of CET Designer experience now, she currently uses the software for furniture design, space planning and renderings.

“Seeing everything you create then ‘populate’ into the 3D view with finishes brings a whole new concept of allowing the end user to virtually visualize their space. This is just one of the ways that CET Designer has changed the way I work,” she said.

The rendering that Kelli created featured in this article was for a bid that her company worked on. The goal was to integrate both heads-down and collaborative types of workspaces into the workstations.

“Working in CET Designer has been a game changer for me. It’s made me a better designer, and I love using the software,” she said.

Her best CET Designer tip? Using favorites and blocks. “Don’t waste your time recreating the wheel when you can have automatic idea starters to discuss.”

When Kelli isn’t designing awesome spaces in CET Designer, she’s hanging out with her famous pet, Kobi, a dog that has modeled for and been featured in various publications and catalogues, including a recent La-Z-Boy catalogue.
