Configura – the Swedish technology company that makes the space-planning software CET Designer – has released the 10.5 version of the software.
CET Designer 10.5 includes a set of construction tools, Photo Lab updates and an improved interface for keyboard shortcuts.
The set of construction tools in CET Designer 10.5 consists of three tools to help users reference points in their drawings and to measure distances from a set baseline.
Photo Lab – a built-in tool for creating photorealistic renderings in CET Designer – has received some updates with the new release. Several new panorama backgrounds to choose from have been added. The realistic-generated sky background in the Lighting & Shadows section of Photo Lab is now optional. For more information about Photo Lab, please go to https://www.configura.com/cet/support/about-photo-lab-3/.
CET Designer 10.5 now offers a better overview and sorting of keyboard shortcuts. The user interface for the keyboard shortcuts dialogue has been improved. New search and sorting functions should make it easier for users to find the shortcuts that they’re looking for.
New features and improvements are often inspired by CET Designer users, whose input helps to shape the future of the software.
Used by thousands of people globally, CET Designer helps manufacturers and their distributors by providing a single software solution for space planning and product ordering. The solution is used in a number of industries that manufacture configurable products; industries include office furniture, kitchen and bath, material handling, industrial machinery and laboratory/healthcare.
CET Designer is Configura’s “core” Parametric Graphical Configuration (PGC)-based software platform; an Extension is an addition to the program with functionality that incorporates all of the rules, parts and pricing of a given manufacturer’s products.
Manufacturers partner with Configura to create CET Designer Extensions that make selling their products fast, easy and extremely accurate. The highly visual software enables 2D and 3D design, a project collaboration tool, photorealistic renderings, fly-thru videos, virtual and augmented reality experiences, instant pricing, parts lists and installation documents.
Global companies that have invested in CET Designer Extensions for their companies and dealers include AJ, Allsteel, Apex Office Furniture, Aurora Storage Products, Bisley, BuzziSpace, Carvajal Espacios, ChargeSpot, Chief, Clarus, Clear Design, Connectrac, Dauphin, Dekko, Dematic, DeskMakers, Diversified Woodcrafts, Emagispace, Enwork, ERG International, ESI, Euro Chair, FSR, Global Furniture Group, Gunlocke, Haworth, Herman Miller, HNI India, HON, Ideon, Indiana Furniture, Inscape, Interior Concepts, ITAB Shop Products, Keilhauer, KI, Kimball, Knoll, Kvik, Leland, Maars Living Walls, Marbodal, Maxon, mediatechnologies, Midmark, National, Nobia, Norema, Novah, OFS, Oi Furniture, SitOnIt Seating, Snowsound, Solinoff, SpaceCo, Spacefile, Spec Furniture, Steelcase, Stylex, Sunon, Talos, Teknion and Tranquil.

About CET Designer
Based on technology created by Configura, CET Designer is intelligent, highly visual and intuitive space-planning software that simplifies specifying and selling of products in a variety of industries. It’s a complete solution that quickly and accurately handles every step of the sales and order process. In CET Designer, components that represent manufacturers’ products look and behave like actual products. Users drag and drop components into 2D and 3D virtual environments; behind the scenes, the software tracks components, calculates pricing and prevents user errors. Users can create and generate layouts, quotes, photorealistic renderings, movies, installation drawings, reconfigurations and bills of materials – in other words, everything needed to propose on work and place orders. CET Designer is the future of space planning. More information at www.configura.com/cet.
