Allison Taylor, an interior designer at Price Modern, a Baltimore, Maryland-based Haworth dealer, was recognized as a CET Designer Success Story award recipient in 2019 for its winning proposal submitted to Authority Brands, a franchisor of in-home services.

In 2019, Authority Brands was looking to furnish a brand-new office space. It was a large project with roughly 70 private offices, 30 workstations and ancillary space to furnish. However, the bid didn’t include many details, which allowed Price Modern to demonstrate its strong design capabilities.

After reviewing the bid, Allison quickly got to work in CET Designer. She built the model using CET Designer, applied the interior finish selections, produced realistic renderings and 360 panoramas, and transformed it into an interactive presentation. Price Modern had 30 minutes to present the proposal to Authority Brands, and the morning after the presentation, Price Modern found out they won the bid.

“It was so easy, and the actual spaces look so much like the renderings,” Allison said. “I felt like this project was such a huge win for us, and it truly encompassed what I think the software was made to do. We were able to do it very quickly and I felt like the project deserved recognition.”

Following the bid process, Price Modern met with Authority Brands to discuss revisions and finishes. The entire project – from award to order placement – was completed in less than a month.

“I really enjoy working in the software, so it was definitely a goal of mine to enter the awards,” Allison said. “It was a true honor being recognized at the CET Designer Awards. Plus, I get to say I’m a Power User now.”

Allison started her career in the beauty industry, and later went back to school for interior design. She has been working in interior design for five years. What she loves most about her career is the positive impact she can make on people’s lives through designing beautiful spaces.

“I’ve always been aware of how we experience space and how it can affect us,” Allison said. “I felt like I could give back by using my creativity to develop beautiful spaces that are comfortable and inspiring for those who experience them.”

Allison has used CET Designer for about five years. She uses it for programming, space planning, developing 2D and 3D deliverables for proposals and specifying.

“The 3D aspect has been such a helpful tool,” Allison said. “It has been a great help to communicate designs to clients, so they fully understand all aspects of the proposal.”

Looking ahead, Allison sees CET Designer as a tool that will continue to make her job easier. She sees faster turnaround times on projects with less revisions. Allison’s best trick for CET Designer is to create favorites for a quick, easy way to make additions to any project. When Allison isn’t designing spaces, you can find her playing bass in a funk/rock band or snuggling her rescue pug/Frenchie named Neil Armstrong. She has also appeared on the cover of both a book and magazine.
