Clay, table-sculpture designed for Desalto by Marc Krusin and successfully presented at the Milan Furniture Fair, won the Iconic Design Award 2016, the important award assigned by the German Design Council, which rewards product innovation. An independent international jury, which belongs to the world of architecture, interior design and communication, voted it on November 3rd for its concept and design. An award that certifies the constant commitment of Desalto in research and development of objects that combine aesthetics and functionality.

Desalto.Clay table by Marc Krusin-2Clay

Table born of the encounter between two volumes: the top and the base balanced one on the other, a daring experiment in resting on a surface reduced to a minimum. A perfect blend of beauty and harmony of proportions, Clay sets out to be an object capable of defining the space where it is placed with its own pronounced personality, without however being obtrusive thanks to its barely there elegance. The result of the ongoing technical research at Desalto is the coating, for the version with top in MDF, made with special lava stone pastes spread by hand by means of a broad knife to give an idea of naturalness and at the same time of strength.
