Carnegie Launches Heat And Glare Protected Window Fabrics In Collaboration With Création Baumann

Carnegie, a leader in sustainable textiles and acoustical management solutions for the commercial industry, has launched three new window fabrics in partnership with Création Baumann. As an extension of the Conscious Collection, the new drapery—Shadow VCloud, and Shelter—are equipped with heat and glare protection technology. The draperies are semi-transparent, highly functional aluminum-metalized textiles. By reflecting the sun’s rays, these draperies help to regulate daylight and radiation, reducing the solar energy load into a building.

Carnegie is Création Baumann’s exclusive partner for commercial products in the United States. The Swiss-based company has been designing, weaving, dyeing, and finishing beautiful and ecologically intelligent textiles since 1886. One of the premier designers and manufacturers of interior textiles in the world, Création Baumann window fabrics use the highest quality raw materials, with yarn and weaving innovations that regulate light, reduce sound, and are easy to maintain.

“Création Baumann has been a steadfast partner to Carnegie for almost half a century,” said Carnegie CEO Gordon Boggis. “With a 130-year history, Création Baumann is not only a premier designer and manufacturer of interior textiles but also a leader in sustainability. The new collection beautifully reflects their commitment to product longevity, climate stewardship, and the use of recyclable materials, which aligns perfectly with Carnegie’s own sustainability goals.”

In response to the evolving needs of the architecture and design community, the new window fabrics help to address pressing concerns of environmental sustainability and mental well-being while inspiring creativity and equipping designers with the tools they need to raise the bar for sustainable design. The products are 100% PVC-free, finish-free, and PFAS-free, continuing Carnegie’s commitment to setting a new standard for environmentally conscious design. Other sustainability certifications include Manufacturer ISO 9001/14001 certified, Oeko-Tex Standard 100, SCS Indoor Advantage TM Gold. The products also contribute to LEED certification and meet California Indoor Air Quality Specification CA 01350.

Seeking to redefine the boundaries between performance and design, Création Baumann window fabrics are thoughtfully designed to be equally responsive to beauty, function, and durability considerations. With features like enhanced cleanability and inherent flame resistance, the drapery is engineered to withstand the rigors of high-traffic environments without compromising on aesthetics. Versatile and adaptable, Création Baumann window fabrics are suitable for a wide range of applications, from healthcare and hospitality to workplace and education environments.

The three Création Baumann window fabrics include:

Shadow V: Shadow V is a semi-transparent, heat and glare drapery with six sought-after neutrals exhibiting a soft hand and cozy woven look.

Cloud: This semi-transparent fabric consists of five neutrals ranging from white to warm and cool grays, making it the core basic for regulating light in any public or private space.

Shelter: Dwell in the shade with Shelter—an aluminum-metalized, semi-transparent drapery with a subtle technical look resulting in five nuanced tones.

Carnegie’s partnership with Création Baumann includes numerous textiles for drapery, panels, and wallcoverings. For more information about the latest additions and to explore the full Conscious Collection, visit www.carnegiefabrics.com.
