Celebrating What Has Set Carnegie Apart for 75 Years, the New Wood Look Wallcoverings Combine the Realistic Appearance of Wood with Exceptional Performance
Carnegie, a leader in sustainable textiles and acoustical management solutions for the commercial industry, proudly announces three new Wood Look Wallcovering options, a part of its Studio Collection. This collection reflects Carnegie’s 75-year legacy, drawing on the deep experience, craftsmanship, and forward-thinking design that have become hallmarks of the brand, shaping its journey along the way. Briarwood, Sap, and Timber are designed to meet the strictest standards of durability and cleanability while prioritizing sustainability.
Carnegie’s PVC-free wallcovering solutions offer durability with an eco-friendly edge. Printed on non-woven substrates, these vinyl alternatives may look and perform like traditional vinyl, but they are free of chlorine, formaldehyde, heavy metals, ozone-depleting chemicals, and plasticizers, ensuring a lower environmental impact. The new Wood Look Vinyl Alternative wallcoverings are bleach-cleanable, scrubbable, inherently stain-resistant, and antimicrobial, without the need for added finishes. Setting a new benchmark for design and functionality, the collection is inspired by the organic aesthetics of sun prints. Perfect for creating a statement or a subtle staple, they bring sophistication to any commercial space.
The Wood Look wallcovering collection is made from a sustainable blend of 62% cellulose composite and 38% polyester. The cellulose composite refers to a material derived from wood pulp, sourced from FSC-certified forests. FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certification ensures that the wood comes from responsibly managed forests that protect biodiversity, respect Indigenous and local communities, and support long-term ecological health. This combination of renewable natural fibers and durable synthetic content allows Carnegie to offer a product that delivers the beauty of wood without compromising environmental responsibility.
The new offerings include:
Briarwood
Drawing inspiration from the graceful branches of olive trees, eucalyptus, and forsythia, Briarwood is reminiscent of a delicate sun print. The print is a Type II wallcovering available in four colorways. Water and bleach-cleanable, Briarwood is inherently flame resistant, safely disposable, and features extremely low VOCs, produced using only water-based inks and coatings.
Sap
A bold yet refined statement piece, featuring an allover watercolor-inspired pattern reminiscent of delicate hibiscus blooms. Sap is a performance-grade Type II wallcovering available in four colorways. Water and bleach-cleanable, like Briarwood, it is inherently flame resistant, safely disposable, extremely low in VOCs, and produced using only water-based inks and coatings.
Timber
Timber is a timeless wood grain texture that effortlessly complements popular wood finishes, such as elm, walnut, oak, pinewood, and birch. Its versatile design offers a natural, understated elegance. Timber is a cost-effective Type II wallcovering available in eight color options. Water and bleach-cleanable, Timber is inherently flame resistant, safely disposable, and features extremely low VOC emissions, manufactured exclusively with water-based inks and coatings.
“Rooted in nature and built for life, this new wallcovering collection reflects our belief that performance and sustainability can always go hand in hand. With Briarwood, Sap, and Timber, we’ve captured the warmth and elegance of natural wood in a PVC-free wallcovering solution that meets the highest standards of durability and environmental responsibility,” says Mary Holt, Chief Design Strategist at Carnegie. “Our new Wood Look vinyl alternative wallcoverings stand out as truly unique options in the market, all at a competitive price point.”
