Drawing Inspiration From Nature’s Wild Side, These Upholstery Options Evoke Lush Botanicals, Layered Terrains, and Vibrant Ecosystems With a Bold, Expressive Sensibility
Carnegie, a leader in sustainable textiles and acoustical management solutions for the commercial industry, introduces four new upholstery options as part of the Eden collection. Carnegie’s Eden upholstery range marks an evolution in its textile portfolio, offering new designs that expand the possibilities of design through color, texture, and unexpected patterns. Each pattern brings a nuanced, elevated take on organic inspiration, translating it into rich, modern designs that feel alive, artful, and distinctly refined.
The new offerings are thoughtfully balanced to serve bold visionaries and budget-conscious specifiers. Half of the new upholstery offerings are from Carnegie’s Elements line, a high-performance, value-engineered textile collection that delivers elevated aesthetics without compromising durability or price. With a diverse palette of color-rich neutrals and daring combinations, the collection is suited for statement pieces or grounding elements across commercial settings, such as lobbies, lounges, guestrooms, wellness spaces, and corporate interiors. Whether the goal is to spark conversation or add quiet depth, Eden’s upholstery patterns empower designers to bring nature’s richness indoors with confidence and creativity.
“Designers today are searching for more than just beauty; they want and need materials that perform, inspire, and contribute to healthier, more sustainable spaces,” says Heather Bush, Chief Creative Officer at Carnegie. “With our new upholstery options in the Eden collection, the goal was to create fabrics that feel alive while giving designers the confidence to bring nature’s richness indoors without compromise.”
The new upholstery options include:
Alder: A crushed velvet upholstery fabric with a botanical pattern inspired by ferns, tropical plants, and elongated leaves, offering a layered, textural look. Available in nine colorways ranging from neutral tones to more expressive combinations. Adler is suitable for cleaning with water- or solvent-based cleaners and has a durability of 70,000 double rubs.
Cobble: A boucle upholstery fabric with a tactile crosshatch weave that adds warmth and dimension. Its textured surface is well-suited for softening structured forms and complementing a range of interior palettes. Available in seven colorways, Cobble is suitable for cleaning with water- or solvent-based cleaners and has a durability of 75,000 double rubs.
Monaco: A peony-inspired floral rendered with painterly, hand-drawn detailing, set against a textured ground that evokes a screen-printed or stamped effect. Suitable for both indoor and outdoor upholstery applications, available in seven colorways, and suitable for cleaning with water-, solvent-, or bleach-based cleaners, it offers a durability rating of 70,000 double rubs, and achieves 1,500 hours of lightfastness.
Plume: Plume reinvents the classic fern motif with bold scale, etched textures, and unexpected color pairings, creating a feather-like pattern that feels both traditional and fresh through its woven, almost embroidered structure. Plume is available in seven colorways, is also suitable for cleaning with water-, solvent-, or bleach-based cleaners, and has a durability rating of 85,000 double rubs.
All Eden upholstery options are thoughtfully designed to be free of harmful substances, including antimicrobials, heavy metals, PFAS, formaldehyde, PVC, and more, helping create healthier spaces for people and the environment. The fabrics also meet a variety of sustainability and safety standards, including LEED, Mindful Materials, California Proposition 65, RoHS, and REACH, with some styles carrying additional certifications, such as HHI, Kaiser Permanente, Oeko-Tex Standard 100, Greenguard Gold, or ISO 9001/14001. Together, these options provide designers with responsible, high-performance upholstery that doesn’t compromise on style or versatility.
The Eden collection is rooted in Carnegie’s commitment to authentic, future-focused sustainability. Each product advances Carnegie’s legacy of material innovation, offering designers beautiful solutions that balance environmental responsibility with performance.
