Eco-friendly textile company, Carnegie Fabrics, acquires acoustic solution manufacturer Kirei to further its environmentally responsible innovation

Carnegie Fabrics, a leader in sustainable textiles and space management solutions for building interiors, is pleased to announce the acquisition of Kirei LLC. Kirei provides interior designers, architects and installers with acoustical solutions which are aesthetically beautiful, high performance and environmentally sustainable.

The companies will leverage their combined assets and continue to focus on environmentally responsible innovation ā€” proving that beautiful, high-performance design solutions can be delivered sustainably.

Carnegie CEO, Gordon Boggis, commented: ā€œCarnegie has a strong commitment to environmentally-focused innovation. We have also seen great success with our Xorel Artform and WOOD-SKIN acoustical solution products. Kireiā€™s heritage is also very much about environmentally sustainable solutions, so the combination was a natural alignment of like-minded, purpose-driven companies. Adding Kirei to the Carnegie family delivers a comprehensive range of solutions for all acoustical space management needs.ā€

John Stein, the President and founder of Kirei will stay on in the role of Executive Vice Chairman of Kirei. In this role, John will focus on key strategic initiatives such as innovation, product pipeline, brand building and major business development projects.

John Stein commented: ā€œThis feels like a very natural step to take Kireiā€™s growth to the next level. Partnering with Carnegie will ensure a broader audience is exposed to Kireiā€™s great products. Kireiā€™s PET product perfectly complements the Carnegie Xorel Artform and WOOD-SKIN ranges ā€“ delivering a comprehensive solution, whatever the acoustical management needs. Iā€™m also delighted that there is such a strong alignment of the two companiesā€™ commitment to ongoing, environmentally focused innovation.ā€

Kirei will continue to operate out of its San Diego headquarters. Carnegie is based in New York.
