Camira’s ‘Colour of the Year’ 2024

Main Line Flax

Following the announcement of Pantone’s Color of the Year, global designer of textiles, Camira has revealed its own shade for 2024, based on customer demand – and it’s not Peach Fuzz.

According to Camira’s website statistics, green fabrics have seen the most online searches in the last year, with a 30% increase since 2022. Camira’s bestselling wool blend, Main Line Flax, saw a 5000% surge in sales of its mint green shade, Greenwich year-on-year.

Camira’s head of creative, Lynn Kingdon suggests green’s popularity is set to continue in 2024, commenting: “It’s no surprise that we’re seeing an uplift in sales of green, with the popularity of biophilic design and a shift towards a more holistic and nature-inspired approach to interiors. This year’s trending hue will remain throughout 2024, as many of us crave a connection to the environment and patterns, materials, and colours that evoke a sense of calm and tranquility following the pandemic.”

“The challenge is finding the perfect shade of green to complement existing interiors – Camira’s fabric ranges include softer green tones which work well as supportive colours, and brighter, bolder tones that can add a pop of colour to a space.”

Interestingly, Camira’s data also demonstrated that beige shades are gaining traction, with searches up by 100%, alongside orange and pink which saw increases of 60% and 40% respectively.

Lynn continued: “It’s fascinating to see ‘Peach Fuzz’ chosen as Pantone’s Colour of the Year, which I think will resonate with residential and hospitality markets. This gentle shade is aligned with Camira’s blush, clay and terracotta palettes, which have been extended in the last couple of years and intriguingly, these warmer tones pair perfectly with cooler mint shades such as our minty Main Line Flax bestseller, Greenwich and other forest greens.”

Camira produces approximately eight million metres of per year for commercial, residential and transport interiors globally. Headquartered in the UK, the company has manufacturing facilities in the UK and Lithuania, offices and showrooms in Europe, North America, Australia and China and a global network of agents and distributors.
