As a sponsor of this year’s Boston Design Week, the Boston Design Center (BDC) hosts a slew of fun and educational design events throughout the week.
Boston Design Week 2018: April 4 – April 15
Boston Design Week, a 12-day, city-wide festival, seeks to increase public awareness and appreciation of all aspects of design. Fostering recognition of the vital role design plays in our lives, over 80 events all over the city bring new audiences to a wide array of design industries and organizations. This year, the Boston Design Center will feature exciting event programming including notable keynote presenters, showroom events and CEU courses, Design Showdown, and more.

- April 6, 1-3 pm, M-Geough Showroom – Modern Luxury Interiors Boston’s Inaugural Issue Sneak Peek: Modern Luxury Interiors Boston’s Editor-in-Chief Jaci Conry provides a behind the scenes first look into the inaugural issue and will discuss what sets this new publication apart. RSVP here.
- April 6, 6-9 pm, Suite 313 – Design New England’s Design Showdown: eight finalists defend their designs for a live/work space that combine innovation, functionality, and social responsibility. RSVP here.
- April 10, 11 am-1 pm, Jewett Farms Showroom – Beyond Sustainability: Designing an Heirloom House with Lasting Impact: a panel discussion that brings together local experts in sustainable residential design and will focus on creating sustainable heirloom houses. RSVP here.
- April 10, 3-5 pm, Merida Showroom – Meet Merida: An American Textile Design Company: join Merida’s in-house design team for a conversation on beauty, sustainability and crafted-to-order, American-made textiles. Merida will also be previewing their new Fall River collections. A reception will follow the discussion. RSVP here.
- April 11, 11 am-1 pm, Seminar Room – Contemporary Explorations with Hellman-Chang and New England Home: Noted furniture designer Eric Chang of Brooklyn’s Hellman-Chang talks with New England Home’s editor-in-chief Kyle Hoepner, about what counts as “contemporary” in today’s design world. - April 11, 2-4 pm, Kravet Showroom – UNIQUE: How to Be a Designer Who Stands Out: The Global Design Post presents an inspiring designer panel for anyone who participates in the interior design community. Panelists share their success and suggestions. RSVP here.
- April 11, 3-5:30 pm, Neoscape Showroom – Fuel Your Creative Engine: join us for this hands-on workshop to learn how to let go of bad ideas and find fresh, new perspectives. RSVP here.
- April 11, 4-7 pm, Artaic Showroom; Seaport – Artaic’s Seaport Sampler: join Artaic along with Founder & CEO Ted Acworth and Design New England for a unique tour of Boston’s Seaport district. After a tasty Harpoon beer and seeing some mosaic production in action at the manufacturing studio, a trolley will be waiting to take you to several popular destinations throughout the district.
