Boston Business Journal Names AIS Among the Most Charitable Companies in Massachusetts

For the fifth consecutive year, AIS earns a spot on the list of the state’s top charitable contributors.

The Boston Business Journal has named AIS a 2024 honoree in its annual Corporate Citizenship Awards, a recognition of the region’s top corporate charitable contributors. The Business Journal publishes this list annually to showcase companies that promote and prioritize giving back to their communities.

“It is with honor that we present our list of the Top Charitable Contributors in Massachusetts – companies who gave $100,000 or more to Mass.-based in charities in 2023. Collectively, they gave more than $362 million in cash contributions – a true example of the business community coming together to help those in need.  We are proud to celebrate these organizations who give both money and time to make Boston a stronger and better place for all.” said Boston Business Journal Market President and Publisher Carolyn Jones.

This year 96 companies qualified for the distinction with this year’s honorees including companies from industries such as financial and professional services, manufacturing, healthcare, technology, retail, and professional sports.

AIS, whose contributions included an impressive list of nearly two dozen charitable organizations, was honored at the BBJ’s 18th Annual Corporate Citizenship Awards on Thursday, September 5 at the Seaport Hotel in Boston.

Since the company’s inception more than 35 years ago, giving back has been an integral part of the AIS mission. “We strive to be a good corporate citizen and contributing member of the community,” stated Nick Haritos, president and CEO of AIS. “We support many causes in a variety of ways including donating product and design services, volunteering our time and talent, and financial contributions. Last year, when our hometown of Leominster, Mass. experienced massive flooding as more than eleven inches of rain falling in a single afternoon, we knew that it was time to get out our checkbook.”

In addition to organizations with a national presence including United Way and Make-A-Wish, AIS supports local organizations that provide food and shelter to families in need, civic events that bring communities together for celebrations, and regional efforts spearheaded by our dealers and remote teams around the country.

While the BBJ list recognizes the company’s contributions in Massachusetts, AIS is also a proud contributor to many other worthy causes nationwide. “Supporting our dealers’ philanthropic efforts is important to AIS. Whenever we can say yes to a request, we make every effort to do just that,” stated Haritos. “We also ensure paid time off to our employees, enabling them to donate their time volunteering at charitable organizations.”
