BKV Group Hires Melanie N. Hanna as Director of Interior Design for Dallas Practice Site
Industry leader joins firm to support its work in corporate and hospitality sectors
BKV Group, a holistic, multidisciplinary design firm, today announced the addition of Melanie N. Hanna, RID, NCIDQ, WELL AP, as director of interior design and senior associate, working out of the company’s Dallas practice site. In this role, Hanna will support the firm’s continued growth, with a concentration in the corporate and hospitality sectors both in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and across the Sun Belt, partnering with clients to create immersive environments reflective of their brands.
“Melanie’s expertise in nearly every aspect of design makes her the ideal candidate to help scale our interior design work both in Texas and throughout BKV’s entire southern region, with a focus on the corporate and hospitality sectors,” said BKV Group CEO Jack Boarman. “We feel fortunate that she selected our firm for the next chapter of her professional journey, as her creativity and client-focused approach align perfectly with our own corporate ethos.”
Hanna brings 17 years of experience in interior design and brand strategy, most recently as a senior project designer and senior associate at BOKA Powell, where she specialized in corporate interiors and helped to launch the firm’s hospitality studio, 8080.
A proponent of creating rich design narratives to elicit emotion and establish a distinct sense of place, Hanna’s extensive portfolio includes corporate, historic preservation, civic, healthcare, education, religious and hospitality projects, such as Venetian Macau Parcel 5 & 6 including Shangri-La, Traders and Sheraton Hotels in Macau, China, and the Waterloo Park Hotel, Curio Collection by Hilton in Austin. More recently, she was part of the design team behind the renovation of International Plaza III, a 13-story office tower in Dallas, and led the design of Roam Grandscape, a hospitality-driven coworking space in Grandscape, Texas.
“In addition to resonating with my own design philosophy, BKV’s research-driven, storytelling approach to design results in visually striking projects reflecting not only local iconography but also our clients’ values and brand aesthetic,” said Hanna. “It’s exciting to be part of the firm as it expands its market share in the southern states and particularly in Dallas, which is rapidly becoming a corporate headquarters and hospitality hub.”
Hanna holds a B.S. in interior design and hospitality from Stephen F. Austin State University and has since earned several industry credentials and certifications. Her professional affiliations include American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) Committee on Climate, Health, and Equity (CoCHE), CoreNet Global North Texas, Friends in Real Estate (FIRE), Ladies in CRE (Dallas + Addison), and MILEstone 2024-25 Designer Advisory Council.
