Avenue Road Announces Management Changes
AVENUE ROAD, established in 2007 to showcase the best in classic and contemporary furniture, has announced new structural changes designed to enhance its position as North America’s leading furniture and lifestyle brand.
Effective immediately, Stephan Weishaupt, who co-founded AVENUE ROAD with acclaimed designers George Yabu and Glenn Pushelberg, has assumed full ownership of the company and will continue to manage its strategic direction. While no longer financial partners in the firm, both George Yabu and Glenn Pushelberg will continue to play an important role in designing exclusive furniture for the AVENUE ROAD brand, including a comprehensive new textile collection slated for release later this year. The duo was also responsible for the design of AVENUE ROAD’s headquarters in Toronto that won an Interior Design Best of Year Award in 2010.
 “I would like to thank George and Glenn for their invaluable contribution and friendship over the years,” Weishaupt says. “Our shared vision and passion has enabled AVENUE ROAD to become what it is today and I am excited to be embarking with my team on a new trajectory that will bring further growth and unique design to AVENUE ROAD.”
Over the years, Yabu Pushelberg has created tremendously successful pieces for AVENUE ROAD including the Perry Street Boomerang sofa, Rua Ipanema chair and more recently the Park Place stool. In addition to the fabrics that will launch later this year, new furnishings will enlarge their collection to over twenty pieces.  “We are delighted to be continuing our relationship with AVENUE ROAD, which has a special place in our hearts,” Yabu and Pushelberg add. “We look forward to its continued success under Stephan’s stewardship while being able to contribute more designs to its outstanding collection.”
