“Careers Building Communities” to provide vital resource for visitors across the real estate industry
The American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) is helping pave the way forward in the real estate sector with a brand-new collaboration aimed at bolstering the industry’s job force. Alongside 28 other real estate organizations, ASID will assist in highlighting diverse career paths across the industry by providing relevant career and industry information.
The first initiative of this collaboration is a new website entitled Careers Building Communities (www.CareersBuildingCommunities.org), which allows visitors to navigate through a wide variety career paths across all sectors of real estate. For the first time, students in high school, college, technical programs, and community colleges can explore possible career pathways within the built environment by taking an interactive quiz to discover career opportunities.
As the industry seeks to fill millions of jobs, this site serves as an all-inclusive resource for students, educators, career changers and other stakeholders to explore the unlimited opportunities in the field of real estate. As a whole, the website will represent more than 10 million jobs from across each participating company.
“ASID is proud to be one of the 28 organizations leading this initiative that will not only help draw more talent into interior design and real estate as a whole, but will also provide imperative career resources across the entire sector,” said Randy Fiser, Hon. FASID, CEO of ASID. “Each talent pipeline offers unique career opportunities for students, educators, and professionals alike, and we are excited to see this resource grow and further develop our industry from the inside-out.”
As the design industry has demonstrated continual growth in economic contribution, number of jobs, and number of firms since 2012, this collaborative resource will tap into the success of ASID.

About ASID
The American Society of Interior Designers believes that design transforms lives. ASID serves the full range of the interior design profession and practice through the Society’s programs, networks, and advocacy. We thrive on the strength of cross-functional and interdisciplinary relationships among designers of all specialties, including workplace, healthcare, retail and hospitality, education, institutional, and residential. We lead interior designers in shared conversations around topics that matter: from evidence-based and humancentric design to social responsibility, wellbeing, and sustainability. We showcase the impact of design on the human experience and the value interior designers provide.
ASID was founded over 40 years ago when two organizations became one, but its legacy dates back to the early 1930s. As we celebrate nearly 85 years of industry leadership, we are leading the future of interior design, continuing to integrate the advantages of local connections with national reach, of small firms with big, and of the places we live with the places we work, play, and heal. www.asid.org
