Top Achievers Recognized at SCALE: The ASID National Student Summit

The American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) is pleased to announce the internship winners of the 2018 ASID Student Portfolio Competition (SPC) and the winners of the 2018 ASID Student Chapter Awards (SCA). The winners were recognized at SCALE: The ASID National Student Summit in Los Angeles on February 25, 2018.

“ASID is dedicated to supporting and recognizing the outstanding achievements of interior design students,” said ASID CEO, Randy Fiser, Hon. FASID. “The top student portfolios exhibited a depth in concept that was carried throughout the design solutions from sketch to space to detail. Strong communicators both visually and verbally, the SPC finalists were required to interview with members of the judging panel as part of the internship award process, a strong differentiator between the SPC and other student design competitions. It was a challenge to select this years SPC and SCA winners, a compelling indicator of a bright future for the interior design industry.”

ASID Student Portfolio Competition

In its third year, The ASID Student Portfolio Competition generates the best collection of student design projects in the nation. About ASID

The American Society of Interior Designers believes that design transforms lives. ASID serves the full range of the interior design profession and practice through the Society’s programs, networks, and advocacy. We thrive on the strength of cross-functional and interdisciplinary relationships among designers of all specialties, including workplace, healthcare, retail and hospitality, education, institutional, and residential. We lead interior designers in shared conversations around topics that matter: from evidence-based and humancentric design to social responsibility, well-being, and sustainability. We showcase the impact of design on the human experience and the value interior designers provide.

ASID was founded over 40 years ago when two organizations became one, but its legacy dates back to the early 1930s. As we celebrate nearly 85 years of industry leadership, we are leading the future of interior design, continuing to integrate the advantages of local connections with national reach, of small firms with big, and of the places we live with the places we work, play, and heal.
