Arki-Table: 10 years together

Pedrali celebrates the tenth anniversary of Arki-Table

2022 marks for Pedrali a special anniversary: ten years of Arki-Table, an iconic table, structurally linear and rigorous, but at the same time versatile and designed for different uses. It is characterised by an ultra-thin top, also available in big sizes, supported by a hidden extruded aluminium frame. The proportions of this table assure visual harmony, as well as clean lines.

Thanks to their peculiar inclination, the trestle legs in steel or solid oak ensure stability and grip on the ground. First launched in 2012 on the occasion of Salone del Mobile, Arki-Table enjoyed great success standing today as one of the most iconic Pedrali products, picked by architects and interior designers from all over the world to decor home and contract projects.

Arki-Table furnishes Sky Italia offices, a modern and innovative workspace in the middle of the residential neighbourhood of Milano, Santa Giulia. A smart, flexible and tailor-made office space for the employees and the activities that take place during the entire working day.

Still within the context of the office world, the new hub of Chromavis, the Cremona-based company specialising in make-up, selected a large Arki-Table for its company canteen, enabling socialisation among diners.

This table is often chosen for restaurants and dining areas. An example of this is RAAM Food, in the Belgian town of Lokeren, where large Arki-Tables furnish the airy dining room which, through the wide windows, offers a wonderful view of the surrounding greenery in which this evocative location is nestled.

The collection also furnishes educational projects, such as the cafeteria of the American University in Cairo, AUC, one of the leading higher education institutions in Egypt which was renovated 100 years after its foundation in order to serve as cultural centre. A place characterized by a contemporary design which harmoniously contrasts with the ancient stone walls, ready to hosts moments of conviviality thanks to the Arki-Table, placed in the middle of the room.

Since Arki-Table is often chosen to furnish many residential projects, the Maltese dwelling of architect Keith Pillow, founder of the international firm DAAA Haus, inspired by the atmosphere of Kyoto, should be mentioned. In a context featuring a minimal style with Japanese influences, combined with some of the finest Italian craftsmanship along with selected iconic design pieces, Arki-Table dominates the main living room of the house.

Likewise, Arki-Table was selected for the bright sea-facing veranda of the enchanting Sebbah House in Costa Brava.

At 21 Grammi, the well-known restaurant project in Brescia that offers young people with Down’s syndrome professional training, Arki-Tables furnish the bar open to customers.

Arki-table was selected to set up the 11th edition of Triennale Design Museum, dedicated to the history and stories of Italian design. Thanks to its versatility, the collection completed the “Storie. Studio” area dedicated to educational, study and rest.

Over these first ten years, the Arki family greatly expanded and was endowed with new versions saving the distinctive features of the ultra-thin top and the peculiar trestle legs, while maximising performance.

Arki-Table Adjustable meets the needs of flexibility and functionality of most modern working spaces thanks to the height-adjustable top. Suitable for meeting rooms and workstations, this table is able to adapt to his users allowing to work both standing up and sitting down. In fact, thanks to two electric actuators, connected to a control unit and activated by two buttons placed under the top, it is possible to choose the ideal height of the top.

Arki-Table Adjustable is also available in a Desk version. Launched in November 2020 in order to respond to social distancing needs demanded by Covid-19, this version is designed as a single workstation.

Its cable access, placed between the top and the panel, allows to anchor the sound absorbing panel upholstered in fabric which divides one desk from another. The panel can be easily removed and cleaned.

Arki-Stool and Arki-Bench enrich the tradition of Arki collection, which reviews the industrial look in a functional way.

Arki-Stool is a swivelling barstool with gas lift device and solid oak seat and legs. A steel footrest on the legs creates a nice contrast to the naturalness of the wood.

Arki-Bench is a linear, modular bench characterised by a solid laminate seat and distinctive trestle legs in steel or solid oak joined together by a steel support for added stability.

Pedrali

Beauty, tradition and innovation

Pedrali is an Italian company that produces contemporary furniture for contract and residential. The collection is the result of a careful and accurate research aimed to create functional and versatile industrial design products made of metal, plastic materials, wood as well as upholstery. Seatings, tables, complements and lighting exclusively manufactured in Italy through a design process which combines tradition and innovation, engineering excellence and creative brilliance. The “100% Made in Italy” philosophy becomes real through the internal production in the headquarters of Mornico al Serio (Bergamo), where the automated warehouse designed by architect Cino Zucchi is based, and in the wood division in Manzano (Udine).

The high quality and respect for the environment represent long-established practices. This is proved by the use of water-based paints, made principally from plant-derived resins, for the wooden products, and by the certifications ISO 9001 for quality management system, ISO 14001 for environmental management system, FSC® C114358 for the use of timber from certified forests and Greenguard for low emissions of toxic substances. As evidenced by the brand “Energia

A2A Rinnovabile 100%” (100% Renewable A2A Energy), its energy is entirely obtained from plants powered by renewable sources.

In 2020 the company has presented its first collections made from 100% recycled plastic and completed the study on Corporate Carbon Footprint which allows an overview of the impact of the production cycle on the environment, obtaining the certification UNI EN ISO 14064-1:2019 in 2021.

The experimentation of production technologies, the use of different materials and the cooperation with many designers have allowed Pedrali to achieve important awards such as the Compasso d’Oro ADI for Frida chair.

Pedrali is a member of ADI, Associazione per il Disegno Industriale (Association for the Industrial Design).
