Lauren Rottet, FAIA, FIIDA, internationally celebrated architect, designer and founding principal/president and owner of Rottet Studio, celebrates Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day on March 8, while simultaneously paying tribute to this year’s theme, Invest in Women: Accelerate Progress.

As a WBE-certified business, Rottet Studio occupies a unique place in the industry – over 60% of their full-time staff are female and a large percentage include registered architects and interior designers as well as specialists offering a broad range of services highlighting building architecture; interior architecture and design; site planning and landscaping; product design; graphic design; branding and art curation.

Rottet is also the first woman in history to be elevated to Fellow status, the highest membership honor, by both the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and International Interior Design Association (IIDA).  In the past two decades, in addition to creating a combined portfolio of more than 70 million square feet of design experiences for the world’s leading luxury hospitality brands, residences and Fortune 500 Companies, she has launched an award-winning furniture offering, Rottet Collection.  Along with her practice, Rottet is an advocate for Be Originals America, a non-profit creative advocacy committed to informing, educating and influencing design-industry professionals  including artisans, manufacturers and consumers about the economic, ethical and environmental value of authentic design.

Rottet believes in fostering the next generation of female architects and designers through education, training and mentoring. “The key to being a successful mentor is recognizing that you can’t do it all, but that you can teach someone else,” she said.  Adding, “Women supporting women is integral to our success.”
