Co-op Single offers privacy and personal space in busy interiors
As the open floor plan concept has evolved to more effectively address occupants’ privacy concerns, the need for furnishings that support focused activity is becoming increasingly important. Co-op Single was designed specifically for this purpose and serves as the perfect counterbalance to busy collaborative meeting areas, crowded shared spaces and bustling open environments.
Its clever functionality evolved from the successful Co-op Meeting Spaces collection that launched in 2016 and catered more to group activity. The concept was immediately embraced but at the same time, requests for a single-user model quickly came to light. Thus began work on the individual module, taking the existing features and condensing them down to a stand-alone work zone.
“With the launch of Co-op Single, Arcadia is responding to a demand in the market for personal work areas within today’s highly adaptable environments,” says Helen Kim, Director of Marketing for Arcadia. “It gives designers unparalleled flexibility in creating beautiful, functional and well-balanced interiors that meet the need for increased privacy, while offering a wealth of features and options in a small footprint.”
Designed by Oak Brook, Illinois-based QDesign, these adaptable pieces are available in a variety of styles that allow the freedom of choice in creating work environments that support the individual. Whether it’s the public seating model which maintains visibility and clear sight lines, or a private unit that offers greater privacy and improved acoustical properties, Co-op Single lets users decide how and where they want to work. For additional seclusion, an optional canopy version – with or without an overhead touch-controlled LED light – is also offered. Lastly, all versions are available with seat-mounted or through-the-table surface power and data capabilities ensuring recharging and long-term connectivity is always at the ready.
For added flexibility and design options, the accent tier panel featured on all private units, is available fully upholstered in a wide selection of fabrics or surfaced in veneer, laminate or whiteboard material. The 27″ high integrated table is offered in Maple, Walnut and White Oak veneer, as well as a broad assortment of laminate selections, to accommodate aesthetic preferences or maintain continuity across spaces. As such, Co-op Single is equally at home in corporate and education interiors, as well as in hospitality environments, libraries, convention centers and more.
Arcadia is dedicated to new product development and delivering a breadth and depth of high quality seating and tabling solutions for large and small companies alike. Dynamic in environments ranging from corporate, educational, healthcare, hospitality and retail spaces to government institutions, airport and club lounges, and more, Arcadia’s product collections are introduced each year at the NeoCon World Fair in Chicago and remain on display in Arcadia’s permanent showroom in Chicago’s Merchandise Mart (Suite #340).
