We are excited to launch the annual IFI world-community project—IFI World Interiors Day (IFI WID) 2022. It’s time to take stock and to revel in our profession’s purpose and efforts to fill spaces with beauty and meaning.
Participate in IFI WID 2022 in whichever way is meaningful to you. Express and share your creativity. It could be simply to showcase your work, build a larger design-aware community, talk to your local government for their understanding of the relevance of Interior Architecture/Design. Or to deepen education, advocate for a cause, network, or celebrate the impact of our built environment on all human action and behavior.
IFI invites you to explore “Pride of the Past, An Incentive for the Future” and to share with your colleagues and the world what this means to you as a design advocate and enthusiast for your unique context and community.

About IFI World Interiors Day (IFI WID)
IFI WID, a longstanding IFI event, is akin to Earth Day. It is an annual opportunity for all designers and enthusiasts to globally unite through themed provocative celebrations – large and small. IFI WID causes public awareness, recognizing the value of Interiors and all who make built environments.

Celebrated globally, IFI WID invites design professionals, industry leaders, students and enthusiasts along with institutions, governments and members of the general public to organize activities and events that bring community members together to explore, learn, discover and create. Founded in 1963, IFI – the International Federation of Interior Architects/Designers is the singular world federation for the discipline’s design communities, policymakers, experts and enthusiasts. An independent body who acts as the ‘UN’ for Interiors worldwide, IFI’s headquarters are appropriately located within the United Nations’ international territory in New York City.
At the world level, IFI’s responsibilities include comprehensively strengthening professional knowledge, caliber of work and integrity of practice, as well as promoting the value of quality design and advancing its impacts. IFI unifies Interior Architecture/Design through globally relevant knowledge, experience and understanding, while engaging the profession with the general public.
IFI believes in the power of Design as a vehicle for human betterment and productive improvement. IFI recognizes that all people are equal across the world and that well-designed environments help to uplift humanity and civil society. It promotes equal rights and access to Interior Architecture/Design practice, research and education to be granted equally to all who wish to pursue it. This is regardless of race, gender, creed, sexual orientation, cultural heritage and socio-economic background, and not-withstanding disparities brought forth across different regional contexts. That good and quality Design requires to foundationally take into consideration these and other such evolving factors as technological innovation, globalization, economic and political instability and social inequality, as well as holistic consideration of the environmental/sustainable factors.
