America ByDesign is proud to announce their exciting new partnership with the American Institute of Architects (AIA), showcasing the value of architecture to a national mainstream audience. The AIA will play a significant role in Season 2 of America ByDesign: Architecture, a six-part series on CBS promoting American architectural innovation, ingenuity, and design excellence. Architects highlighted in the show are AIA members, and the partnership will reinforce the importance of architecture and design in all communities from schools to skyscrapers. The second season, will premiere mid-August and will air on CBS, the CBS News Streaming Network at www.cbsnews.com/newyork/live, all CBS News mobile apps, and on https://www.bydesign.global/.
ByDesign is home to a global collection of primetime television shows on CBS that explore design, featuring the innovators who bring ideas to life. The collection of series speaks to the beating heart of design, encompassing concept through realization and featuring a range of industry leaders, from Industrial Designers to Architects. ByDesign highlights innovative individuals, whose creative vision shapes the world around us. The intrinsic connection between architecture and innovation is not lost on the Series’ Co-Founder and Executive Producer, Mike Chapman.
“We are in the midst of a design renaissance,” states Chapman. “ByDesign intends to continue the conversation, celebrating, commentating, and educating on excellent design. The brand is gathering immense momentum and is being recognized globally as a medium through which design can be discussed and shared. We are excited to move forward with AIA as we embark on new adventures – broadening our audience and focusing our lens.”
Innate to all AIA designs are members’ drive for positive change in their respective communities in order to create space for all to redefine architectural narratives. The America ByDesign: Architecture platform will allow widespread viewers to see this work in action with engaging “behind the scenes” anecdotes and stories.
“AIA members play an integral role in the design of so many of the places where we live, work, learn and play. They have told me about the importance of elevating and celebrating architecture in the eyes of the general public, and this partnership helps us move in that direction,” said Executive Vice President and CEO Lakisha Ann Woods, CAE, who made an appearance in an episode of Season 1. “I am so pleased to be able to partner with America ByDesign. It’s a tremendous opportunity to showcase our members’ skills and expertise as to how design thinking can create a more equitable and sustainable world for us all.”
The second season of America ByDesign: Architecture will premiere on CBS, the CBS News Streaming Network at www.cbsnews.com/newyork/live, all CBS News mobile apps, and on its website beginning mid-August. For more information, please visit: www.bydesign.global.
