Like most companies, Toronto-based Allseating – a leader in the design and development of seating solutions – has recyclable materials that need to be discarded post-production and distribution. But what do these companies do with the waste and how?
Rather than just toss this waste in the landfill, Allseating has committed to finding a material recovery method through Cascades Recovery+. Because these efforts have been so successful, Allseating has attained a Cascades Recovery+ Certification.
The program, organized by The Sustainable Material Management Group, aims to celebrate companies like Allseating that reduce waste in their production and distribution processes. Through Allseatingās participation in the Recovery+ program, it has significantly reduced output in the following areas – here are some stats for you as of September 2017:
Total Material Recovered: 13.7 Metric Tons
Landfill Reduction: 53.4 Cubic Yards
Energy Saved: 59850 kWh
Carbon Dioxide Emission Reduction: 48.1 Te CO2e
Water Saved: 321180 Liters
Oil Saved: 35.2 Barrels
Trees Saved: 206 Mature Trees
Participation in this initiative is a part of Allseatingās larger goal of reducing its carbon footprint.
