After 50 Years, Ligne Roset’s Sandra Is Back

Annie Hiéronimus

Fifty years after its debut, Ligne Roset’s Sandra is back. First launched in 1975, the sofa designed by Annie Hiéronimus was her quiet revolution: soft where design was hard, sculptural where it was geometric, and enveloping where it was distant – three things people are craving in their furniture once again for 2026.

Back in 1975, Hiéronimus was the sole female designer at Ligne Roset’s design studio. While her colleagues were drawing straight lines and sharp angles, she was sketching curves. Made entirely of foam, Sandra wraps around the body like a gentle embrace, celebrating comfort as something vital and deeply human. In fact, the workshop crew used to say, ‘If it was comfortable, it was Hiéronimus.’

Now reintroduced for a new generation, Sandra remains true to Hiéronimus’ original vision – flexible, plush, and endlessly inviting – while integrating Ligne Roset’s unmatched expertise in all-foam seating, including multi-density foams for better support, a built-in lumbar cushion, and an ultra-lightweight construction that moves easily between spaces.
